New Year, New You

January 22, 2018 was the first day that I laced up my tennis shoes and decided to go for a run. I made a playlist and download an interval timer. I set it for 1 minute run/4 minute walk for 30 minutes. I went out super early because I couldn’t sleep. It happens to me when my anxiety gets really bad. 
My goal was to finish, that was it.

I was cold, but I didn’t care. It was still dark when i started, but about halfway through the sun started coming up. There was a light sprinkle coming down. The song “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield was playing.

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you

The rest is still unwritten

The words just spoke to me. I felt a spark to write. I also knew that there was something there that I was missing. So I have spent the past year getting back into writing, and trying out different ways to express myself. Sometimes I am off the mark, and sometimes it’s really awkward. But it is genuine.
